Intern of the Month – Akshit Goel
Akshit Goel was born and raised in India and at a young age, he left his family to come to Canada all on his own. His journey for the past two years has been full of excitement and memorable experiences.
He has come to love the Vancouver area with its beauty and greenery, polite and helpful residents, as well as the ease with which he can get around. As a result, he can agree with the sentiment that Vancouver is one of the most livable cities in the world.
As a post-secondary student at Kwantlen Polytechnic University, Akshit is working towards his diploma in Marketing Management. To achieve that, he was successful in securing his first Co-op placement with us here at i-onCONNECT as a Marketing and Communications Intern. It was his responsibility to handle all our social media platforms and plan for new promotions. Some of these entailed making marketing materials such as flyers, brochures, and other promotional materials. Akshit was also responsible for the monthly newsletter, which helped us maintain our connection with the community.
Working as an Intern has been a real eye-opener for Akshit in that he has discovered the importance of having real-life work experience; an experience that cannot be found in books. The assistance provided by the team at i-onCONNECT has helped Akshit succeed in his placement as an Intern.
When Akshit isn’t working hard, he likes to try making new dishes and experiment with them on his roommates. He also likes to explore the Lower Mainland and BC with his roommates; they really enjoyed their recent trip to Nanaimo, BC.
