The day has arrived for the 2019 SingularityU Canada GIC Live Pitch Event
The day has arrived! Come cheer on the five finalists of SingularityU’s GIC as they pitch their big ideas live at i-onCONNECT in beautiful Burnaby, BC.
i-onCONNECT links innovation to industry and they are thrilled to be hosting this exciting and prestigious event at their facilities located in Burnaby, BC at One Innovation Place, 2700 Production Way with ReMAP, your network of partners from across Canada who assist with product-enablement.
The Keynote for this event is Anne Connelly, Faculty SingularityU and a graduate of the 2016 Singularity Global Solutions Program. Anne is passionate about harnessing blockchain and decentralized technology to transform the lives of people in developing countries.
Andrea Palmer, CEO, Awake Labs and winner of the 2015 SingularityU Canada Global Impact Challenge (GIC) and she is the EMCEE for this thrilling event. Andrea founded the digital health company, Awake Labs, to empower people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live healthier and more independent lives.
It’s been a long journey for the finalists since the event began in November 2018; preparing and submitting their ideas before the deadline in March 2019.
They include Shelena Marsh, Bo Simango, Francis Vala, Dan McCann, and Geoffrey Ching. Each of the finalists have put in a lot of hard work to get to this point. They come from a variety of backgrounds and places across Canada; as far away as Newfoundland to locally here in Metro Vancouver. Each finalist is here today to pitch their BIG idea before our panel of esteemed judges. The event begins at 6:30 pm and there is still time for you to register to come see what BIG ideas made it to the top five list.
