Intern Of The Month – Kevin Masundire
i-onCONNECT has been hiring interns for over a year now and each month we feature an intern that has worked with us. By tapping into the wealth of talent out there, we can meet our needs and assist interns to gain real-life work experience in the area of their studies.
This month we are featuring Kevin Masundire who has been here in Canada for just over a year from Harare, Zimbabwe. In Zimbabwe, Kevin attained a bachelor’s degree in marketing, which allowed him to work with various local brands such as Delta Beverages and Econet and he also worked with international brands such as Coca Cola and Unilever. Currently, in Vancouver Kevin is attending Fairleigh Dickinson University, studying MAS Global Technology Administration, which will help him become a complete marketer in the technology world.
Kevin is our marketing and communications intern. His role with us involves the execution of marketing projects and campaigns, including ideation and measurement and analysis of their impact. Formulating digital strategies to build a dominant digital connection with clients. Kevin has been responsible for blog posts, and social media handling, which has helped improve our online footprint.
He is always on the search for founders and entrepreneurs to partner with in order to use his expertise. As a trained and experienced marketer, Kevin enjoys working with various brands that will help make the world a better place. Helping entrepreneurs run their businesses and seeing them succeed is something that gives him great pleasure; not to mention the diverse group of people he gets to meet and work with along the way.
His lifetime goal is to help end poverty in Africa and the rest of the world. Kevin plans to build a multibillion-dollar company, that will help alleviate poverty in Africa and around the world by using media and technology.
Kevin values spending time with his family, be it on the phone as he is far from home, or in person when he is around them. “I could never, imagine living without my family, but sometimes you have to make sacrifices for your family because you want them to be proud of you.” Additionally, in his spare time, Kevin enjoys making music, car racing and traveling. If he doesn’t have time for racing cars and traveling, then he is content to just make music.
“At some point, I thought I was going to be the next Dr. Dre or Lewis Hamilton, my dream destination is Paris.”
Kevin enjoys living in the Vancouver area because of the people. Being a multicultural city there are a lot of people and new experiences that he encounters every day.
“Every day I see a new person, I smile, and they smile back, that’s nice you know.”
